Husqvarna is world famous for manufacturing enduro motorcycles that are easy to maintain. For 2011 the Husqvarna has brought the TE 449 and this time the motorcycle is backed by German engineering.
So what’s new for the 2011 model?
Nothing is carried forward from the past. new suspension, new frame and refreshed body work the TE is total new and can be among the best enduro bike on the shelf in 2011.
The 2011 TE449 hang on to the same BMW engine with tweaks in the fuel injection system and new 6 speed gear box. the clutch is the same as it was in the BMW version, directly off the crank, but it has been revised with hydraulic actuation. To reduce the effect of chain on the movement of the suspension the sprocket is placed inline with the swingarm pivot. This area was having osme problem with on the BMW G450X, Husky has modified the whole system keeping it simple and beefing up the swingarm sprocket area.
The fuel storage also receives from the Husky. Like the BMW G450X the fuel tank on the new TE449 is placed under the seat but Husky’s have kept it simple and riders can check the fuel level easily. The filling cap is now located at the rear of the bike so that it can’t come in contact with the rider.
Both Husky and BMW share the location of airbox under the seat below the fuel tank column, but Husqvarna has simplified the filter access on the TE449. The seating looks thin and straight but is exceptionally comfortable and roomy. The 2011 Husqvarna TE 449 isn’t street legal. To keep in competition manufacturers adds performance part just every where hence losing street legality. 2011 Husqvarna TE 449 also comes with Akrapovic light and free flowing muffler. The enduro is also offered with special racing exhausts and ability to under go fuel injection mapping without the need of special tools.
Over all the BMW was good but the new Husky made 2011 Husqvarna TE 449 is better with changed suspension, tuned fuel injection and placement of fuel tank. The motorcycle is kept too simple to maintain keeping the tradition of simplicity alive.
Husky is well designed to easy dispatch of the street parts and replace it with racing kit. TE 449 is also offered with Akrapovic racing muffler with a special jump wire to make the motor cycle race in closed course racing.
